A card I made a few weeks back but forgot to blog

This was for Mad crafters Gigglers Challenge
I think the theme was flowers

A quick make ( as I never have much time ) but I love the finish .

Especially the bird in its bird cage , I love these at the moment and it seem very trendy at present to use birds , owls etc.

Isn't it funny how different themes become popular ?

Last nights entry to Mad crafters Gigglers challenge

One word wonder challenge
Word was 'Animals'

This was my entry to last nights challenge .
I've had a few weeks off of crafting as I've been so busy with end of school stuff with my kids and making orders of Thankyou Teacher wrapped Cupcakes that I sell .

So theme yesterday was Animals - I didn't have that much time before challenge ended at 9pm, so thought I'd do a fairly quick make with a per cut hippo decoupage .

I started off with a piece of dark blue velum as backing , then cut lengths of textured and shaped ribbons and cut curvy strips of a pink shimmery iridescent backing paper and layered them on top of the blue velum to look like a shimmery sea . I layered the edges of the velum with a dark blue ribbon and on top of that a thinner lilac coloured flower printed sticky ribbon.

The hippo decoupage was put together with sticky squares and placed on top of the shimmery effect layered sea .

I finished it all off with a printed ''Happy Birthday' paper edging ribbon , lots of blobs of sparkles to look like stars in a night sky , a few colourful flower buttons I cu the backs of and glued down and a Sister printed card wording , mounted on sticky squares to stand out .

This was made for my sisters birthday in September , I hope she likes it xx

A little bit of Nautical for the summer

Another card entered into Mad Crafters Gigglers
Daily Tic Tac Toe challenge

And on this day I won , with the simple but pleasing card

Simply made on an 8x8 scalloped edged card , double mounted with 2 different but coordinating nautical backing papers . On top of this I placed a yellow/ cream ribbon across the card to pick out the tones in the papers.
The image is cut off a previously received greeting card which I trimmed down to leave just the part of the image I wanted, I added a few tiny shells from my local beach to add a 3d element to the card.
A couple of buttons were then added with. Coordinating ribbon trim on top , a few half backed pearls added to the image and a 'enjoy' word stamp to the images bottom right hand corner ( a stamp I used previously in my Step dads Birthday card) .

Over all I love the result but then I love anything nautical xx

A quick card

This is a quick card I made for my step fathers Birthday

Made from an A5 card with a blue / grey sky coloured backing paper
The edges were covered with a floral bordered green ribbon to give the idea of flowers climbing up the sides of the garden.
The shed , plant pits , tools & flower heads are all sizzix die cut and the shed door finished off with a simple brass brad.
I then cut a cloud shape and stamped the word 'enjoy' and mounted it on sticky squares, I simply then added a few 3d paper flowers to the plant pot , a birthday wishes wording to the shed door and a couple of flat backed wooden bugs flying above.

Very simple , but quite affective and my father in laws cats loved playing with the bugs trying to prize them off the card lol .

Another entry into Mad Crafters Giggles challenge

This was for a tic tac toe challenge
I used torn paper , blue & green as my 3 required elements for the challenge

I don't own a torn paper tool , so I tore the different colours and types of paper & card for the sea - by hand . I chalked the background around it and added a sun , then chalked on a few deck chairs and towels on the beach.
The light house & house by the sea were cut from a previously received greeting card , as well as the boat.

My first shaped moving house card

I again entered this into the Mad Crafters Giggles
Daily tic tac toe challenge ( we use to run) .

I made this by copying a design out of a craft magazine but adjusted it to suit using the colours & materials I had.
This was made for my Husbands friend who is male so I didn't want it too girls & pretty.

I really like this design it's a bit different for a new home / moving card and have now purchased some ready cut house shaped cards ( as I cut this shape out myself ).

A very enjoyable card to make as you can be very creative creating a little scene x

My most recent card for Mad Crafters Gigglers

This was my most recent entry for Mad Crafters Gigglers
One Word Wonder - challenge

I have made it for my mums birthday in August ,
I embossed the birds on a sheet of green card using my cuttlebug.
I have then highlighted the raised areas with chalk & glitter glue .
*It was then double mounted on a iridescent & coordinating bird patterned backing paper .
When double mounted , I stuck some thin pale pink satin ribbon over the top corners , and then added a birthday printed sticky paper ribbon to the top of the card and a embossed floral sticky ribbon to the bottom. Then finished it off with flat back pearls and a metal birdcage charm.

My first ever entry to Mad Crafter Giggles

This was my first ever entry

I was desperate to get started and enter my first challenge , but as I'm always so busy with my 4 kids and currently pregnant with my 5th - as well as working around my husband who's a full time fireman . I constantly run out of time - but on this occasion I had 15 mins spare and so made this very quick but cute ( I think) card.

I was inspired by my 21mth old then , who was still wide awake at nearly 9pm ! Lol

My first ever winning entry to Mad crafters Giggles

My first ever winning entry on Mad Crafters Giggles
Tic tac toe challenge

The cream card embossed bird cage centre was done on my cuttlebug , and I think the effect is lovely . I then enhanced the birds with a sizzles glitter and added diamanté gems to the top of each bird cage.
I then mounted it on a fancy patterned backing paper onto the A5 card.
I framed this with 2 different ribbons , added clear flower buttons to 3 of the corners and a gem mounted golden bird cutout I had on the other corner.
Special wishes motif was added - so the card can be used for many occasions .
I love the result x
